Ridgelines and guylines: What do you guys use?

Right now for the ridgeline I'm just using para-cord, which seems like overkill both in terms of how much weight it supports, how thick it is, and how heavy it is. For the attachments on the sides of my tarp to pull it out I use shock cord to prevent damage to the tarp by bad weather and clumsy people and I'm not sure what to use on the edges of the tarp to stake it down. Should I just use regular tent guylines?

What do you all use for all this?

I use lash it 1.75 mm or masons line. I really like the smaller diameter, Any small diameter rope would work. Lash it is overkill in strength but i like the tight braid and its splicing ability. 1.75mm is about perfect for guy lines IMHO.

I use paracord for my ridgeline (just because that's what's available).

I use 3/32" drawcord for my guylines.

2.2 ZingIt for ridgeline (deployed under the tarp) and 2.2 ZingIt with shock cord loops and mini line-loks for guy lines on corners and panel pull outs.

I tried ^shane^'s method and it works like a charm. I did see a nice setup at the NJ Hang this past weekend. Dylan used 1.75 Zing-it and made a prussik that loops back on itself after passing through the tie-out point on his tarp. The other end of the line was larks headed to his stake. For gross tension he used the stake as the toggle in a marlin spike hitch and then did the fine adjustment using the prussik. It was very slick. He also had a Spinn tarp which doesn't stretch. Might want to pm him just in case I'm not 100% accurate here.

    Ridgeline and Guylines ...

www.dphammockgear.com has braided, hollowcore, 1/16" line. One can ever make whoopie-slings with it. None-Better

1.75mm zing-it for everything including structural ridgeline in hammocks.
Just not the actual hammock suspension (7/64 Amsteel for that)

I just swapped from paracord the grey 2.2 lash-it for the ridgeline and tie outs are Kelty triptease with surgical tube tensioners. I plan to make some tie outs from the Lash-it also, just have not done it yet.
