    Can't keep prussic from slipping.

I made a loop out of paracord and then attached the paracord to dyneema cord with a prussic knot. The knot slips fairly easily on the dyneema. Sure seems like it would not hold a tarp especially in wind.

What could I be doing wrong?

Generally, you want the prussik cord to be smaller diameter than the "standing line". If you make your loop out of the dyneema, I bet you'll have better luck getting it to hold.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

The prussic needs to be made out of the same size, or preferably smaller, line than the line to which it is being prussiced. Also, you can try making more wraps with the prussic. Since Dyneema is hard and slick and paracord is soft and not so slick, you might try using two lines that are more closely constructed. Good luck!

I was having similar issues using decoy line(~1mm dia) prussik'd to 7/32" amsteel. I think i did 3 or 4 loops and was still slipping pretty consistently once i switched to the klemheist all my problems were solved and my tarp was hung tight

Assuming rope sizes are all ok as per previous posts then try an extra loop or two. It's amazing what a difference the extra loop can make. I've used zing it with zing it prussics - three loops slipped, 4 loops locked tight.

+1 on what has been said above, plus make sure your prusik knot is tight. I had the same issue with a zing-it prusik on a zing-it ridgeline, but being new to prusik knots mine was not tight enough and caused some minor slipping. Get it as tight as possible by hand then apply the force. After my first night's use I never had the problem again.

You could maybe try a klemheist hitch as an alternative?
