He has a journal - but it wasn't that detailed at all. But I did ask him about it - he said he used it the entire way.

I'm starting March 12, 2007 and my only shelter will be my HH ULBA. I'm a nerd and I will be taking a picture of every single "hang" I make on my trip. I also know that Hammock Engineer is planning on using his hammock on his thru next year too.

Maybe we need a "Hammocker's Trail Journals" section here on HF.net for journals on long distant hikes completed with a hammock!?!?

    That would be cool

Good call on that. I'm looking forward to doing the BMT myself. I'm also hoping that the BMT will funnel off some of the early AT traffic, but tat remains to be seen.

Me too. But with the lack of shelters, hostels, trail angels, and all the other accouterments that the AT has, it probably won't be popular with the average hiker. That is why I decided to go that way instead of hoping others do.

BUT I have been pleased with the BMT so far. I'm working in my spare time here in Iraq to help put together a thru-hiker data book so people can know where the re-supply points are and what is available on the BMT. I can't wait to get out there and hike the whole thing.
