    Double hammocking

Has anyone come acrossed a way to hang two hammocks side by side from the same treesp with out them bumping into each other? I was thinking of some sort of pole between the hanging straps on either side to accomplish this but dont know if it will work. just wondering if anyone has come up with an alternate idea.

    Welcome Tomsawyer222,

Here's a couple of posts that address the "Double Hammock" setup.

This is an alternate way that I just completed 2 days ago. Hope to have some pics today or tomorrow. If I don't run out of day light today I will have them up tonight.

Here are a few photo's of the Hammock spreader bars/struts that I made. Very simple to make and they seem to work well. For front country hanging only! Not gunna hump them in....

    neat.
Over on another thread folks were talking about hanging two bridge hammocks side-by-side. You'd want/need to do something exactly like this in addition to the usual bridge spreader bars.

    Hope the Dinos see this...

That thread died too quick. It needs new life.

What happens when one hammock is occuried and the other is not. Life would be great if both of you pee'd at the same time at night.

rasputen, just curious... what did you use to make the holes in those poles that left groves inside? i like wood

i'm wondering if a person found a way to connect the ends of both spreader poles (hiking sticks?) from both hammocks, but in a way that allowed them to flex or hinge?
that might give some independence of movement to both hammocks.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Paddle drill for hole, then a step drill to widen or taper the mouth of the whole.
After sanding, the finished product looks much smoother..
