The stealth tarp. Fact or fiction?

I open this thread because I will have one tomorrow. After 20 hours of sewing I am at the tail end of my DIY. It is not ultralight, it is possibly four season. It is the DIWhy not. If I was worried about oz. I would never hammock in Kansas! For the sake (ooh makes me think of sushi) of DIY I'm trying everything I've read so far on HF (hammock forum... I love puns and hate acronyms I'm a civilian nowadays).

The stealth tarp will be a Kcote ripstop digi camo that is removable and the same size as my asym. nose to toes.

I think i've seen pictures of this concept but hey some people have seen sasquatch. I believe in him too!

    Pics and opinions too please.

Just finished a Winter Dream clone in BWDD Digicam 1.6oz coated nylon.

I know - pics or it didn't happen - will post them after I get everything set up.

20 hours! You did better than me - probably close to 30 but I threw in several other things as well. Did an all-nighter and next day at a Boy Scout Meritbadge college. I got the bulk done there. Not the most straight lines & definitely not UL but should work for anything the weather can throw at me (short of a tornado!).

I'll try to get pics tmrw!

I built a similar one a few weeks ago, but haven't got around to putting the finishing touches on it yet.

The biggest problem with camo fabric, it is not available in lightweight fabrics like sil or cuben or spinn.
Stealth can be as easy as matching your sorrounding terrain with a compatible color, like green or brown, which are available in sil.

? The digi I bought from an ebay vendor is syl coated. Heres a couple of pics of the project so far. I think my DIY bug is getting squashed by this one.
Two layers a two foot zipper on opposite sides to add a pad. A removable zip on bug net.

I plan on making a full size tarp but i plan on also making a removable 'stealth tarp'. I guess you could just call it a wind break but it will exactly fit the hammock and be a kcote digi 1.9. my bottom layer is 1.6 silcoated ripstop so this should make a weatherproof 'stealth' version.

still have to do some tweaking.

    Thanks bro!

That was before I added camo no-seeum netting and a camo top cover. I also tricked it out a bit. I will post the final version once the weather breaks.

That was my first DIY set-up. Had no clue. Now I have built many more in several versions since by request from people that like it and for friends and family, but the original sk00kum stealth continues to be my favorite.

The tarp is based on Sclittlefield winter dream tarp. If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and check out his webstore: Backwoods daydreamer

Finished hammock size is 120 x 65". Ridgeline is 101".
    Finished tarp size base = 13' x width = 11' . Ridgeline = 11'

here is the thread report: The Skookum Stealth Hammock & Tarp -DIY

Lemme know if you need any help & gl!
