Possible Australian, Newcatle Area Hang / Hike

Hi All

Anyone interested in a overnight trip to the Watagan's or Onley State Forest in the next few weeks.

I've been mulling the idea with Lepmister ??

Open to suggestions, few options for camping and walking, fitness level and availibilty is flexible.

I'd be keen to walk into the Watagan's from Heaton Gap (Hill above Freeman's Waterhole) on part of the Great North Walk. Possibly camping at Hunter lookout as there are plenty of tree's for hammocks.

That would leave a few options if someone didn't want as much walking as you can get to Hunter Lookout in a car.

Throw some dates up if your interested ??

That sounds like a great trip, but I'm afraid I'm out for Feb.

I'm doing a trip on the 5/6th March at Barrington Tops with the boys I walked Kokoda with, kind of an annual reunion, and I can't see the missues giving me a leave pass again for Feb.

However, I'd be real keen to join a group up that way in late April\May.

No worries Russ, If thing's don't work out for with few other HF members I might head up that way myself..... It's a great spot with heaps of country to explore
