    Clever or Sloppy?

I am thinking of using a flexible cutting board sheet from Dollar Tree to provide backing for tie-outs on my HFTools woodland camo tarp.

This is my thought: If I were to cut out part of this cutting sheet and sew, with my 1928 Singer 99, some webbing to it I would have a device that after a small slit is cut in the tarp and the cutting board backing is slathered in some flexible glue I can pull the webbing through and the cutting sheet will back up the hole and create a relatively strong tie-out in the field of this, the finest in China, woodland camo tarp.

Do Y'all think it would work? Is there a cleaner better way to do this? My sewing skills are really weak but I am playing with the thread injector more.

I'd avoid cutting the tarp, it creates a stress point that will likely tear. Glueing to that plastic is often problematic, as they don't adhere well.

There are several tarp tie-out methods. For permanent tie-outs, most people sew and some sew/Glue reinforcing patches to both sides of the tarp to increase the strength.

I did see one cool device that is 2 piece, and locked together through the tarp, without cutting the fabric. It would likely leave a wrinkle if removed, but looked secure...
