This is a painting of a camp in the Amazon jungle by the Peruvian shaman Pablo Amaringo. The 'tents' in the background are 'bugnet tents'. Unfortunately, everyone in the camp was devoured by a giant leech called "sanguijuela mama" (the mother of all leeches?). Of course the hammock rat was first to dieThe moral of the story is, of course, let the ground dwellers camp next to the water!
The leech can be seen cruising on up from the bottom left, no doubt thinking "Mmm...burritos!"
