I made a 3 layer IX UQ and really like it.

Now I want to make a longer one.
Actually thinking about making something a full 60" width using the KAQ dimensions. I have a fleece UQ that I made that way and really like.
The only problem is my gear making budget has evaporated.
So, I thought I'd offer to custom make an IX UQ or TQ to get the funds to make one for myself.
I figure my costs for the 3 layer IX UQ with a nylon bottom shell and shock cord suspension materials will be around $55-60 (depending on shipping).
To be worthwhile for me to consider doing this, I need to get $110 + s&h.
tttgear sells the baby Orca, which is 2 full layers with a partial layer "torso heater" insert, and no nylon cover for $125 + s&h.

If you want a commercial quality product with great customer support, then buy from tttgear. I hear they are awesome. Honestly, their $125 price is pretty darn good, IMHO.
If you want to save a few bucks on a custom DIY UQ that will have a bit more character (that means crooked stitches and a lower level of overall finish work)... but is still perfectly functional, then lets talk. Maybe we can work something out.
I can also make DIY peak bags, skins, tree straps, triangle thingies, gear hammocks, hammocks, etc.
Not looking to start a new cottage shop. Don't have time for that, and frankly, I don't understand how those guys make any $ at the prices they sell at.
Just looking for a few projects to underwrite my own gear making.
