warmest temperature for an uninsulated sock?

balancing weight/comfort. i really like my papa smurf sock, and wonder if it makes sense to carry a lighter sleeping bag and the sock... my 15 degree bag weighs 2 pounds... my 35 degree bag weighs one pound, and the sock weighs about 6 ounces. anybody use a sock above 25 degrees? how high into warm temps have you used a sock?

Looking for info on this matter as well. Went to Linville Gorge this weekend, feet were bitter cold. I wore a pair of smart wool socks and a thicker pair of merino wool socks over them.

I saw Shug's video on possum down socks, but are there alternatives?
