Playing around with alcohol stoves as well as the wood burners would be fun. There should be a fair amount of "Sitting around time" Fri for some who arrive earlier & don't choose to go on a day hike.
Even those of us that spend most of the day at the Festival Sat may have some time for thumb twiddling. Hard to say how many may or may not approach us with questions about our hammock set ups.
The festival crowd will be made up of only so many outdoors/camping/hiking folks, but we may catch the interest of a few couch potatoes too

I'll bet we will all be sad to see how quickly this weekend gets away from us.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Dutch will give a better run down on the raffle at some point (maybe in this thread, maybe in camp), but I'll give you a bit of a heads up just to wet your excitement.

Although we only asked for smaller items, we have ended up w/ a few larger items as well (and we're not complaining one bit)

    From Hammock Gear
3 season (20°f) Phoenix under quilt
    Shock cord suspension & S-biners
Total package in it's silnylon stuff sack, 1lb 9.9ozs

HF member lymphocytosis has been kind enough to send a hammock for the raffle. Very nice workmanship.
Dark green, 1.5 ripstop (He suggests a 225lb weight limit, but I'm sure it would go higher)
    11' long by 5' wide
    includes two long whoppie slings.
total package weighs exactly 1lb on my scales.

And the Custom Cuben Pack Cover (coupon) by Dutch.

I believe those will be our 3 top prizes, but there are quite a few other neat prizes as well, including various items from Jacks-R-Better and Dutch Ware & there were other mentions of donations that I should have kept track of.
Please remind us. Every prize adds to the fun.
We start with the base group prizes & end up with every ticket holder having a chance for the grand prize, even if they have already won.

More details to come from Dutch at a later time.

    Slowhike,
You can add a set of DIY skins I'm bringing. Made from MARPAT supplex nylon.
A little mis-match on the grosgrain on one as I ran out of forest gray for long seam.

sorry for the lousy, oversized pic

We coud have our own little stove-fest.
    Anyone interested?
I like the stoves I've made....but I really like the looks of this. I would be very interested in learning another technique.

Thank you SlowHike. If you don't mind, I'd like to get back to you on this. I'm trying to get some kind of hammock socks sewn together and triangle thingys made to change our poncho liner under quilt suspensions....also need to find something else to go inside of the PLUQ for added insulation. If I run out of time on getting things done, I may just need to use that speer pea pod. I'm a very slow sewer (took shop in school instead of Home economics), but let me see what I can accomplish. I got one sock done today, not exactly what I had hoped for, but it'll do.

Just curious...any chance of putting a deposit down for next year at this same time for the group site with any extra money that hopefully would be raised?

It hasn't even started yet, and I already wish it was a longer weekend.
