"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
I just spent the weekend in my hammock and did not need an underquilt. Next month in VA that won't be the case.
I have started pulling together some things. I bought 5 lbs of andouille sausage for the Gumbo since I caught it on sale earlier this week.
So excited about being there during the Autumnal Equinox!
So, do we have several hammock types & different suspensions to hang up during the Saturday Hammock Demo at the festival?
I can hang my DIY gathered end hammock using a spreader bar above the head.
My suspension is webbing clipped to the tree by a dutch clip & adjustment is w/ ring buckles attached to the hammock by cord & larks head.
I can put my tarp over it but my tarp isn't the prettiest It has extra seams that cause a lot of unnecessary questions
But having a tarp for each hammock in the demo will be a most excellent idea. You never know when a rain cloud will roll in.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
We will bring to set up an ENO One link System and a Chrysalis for those who want to compare a bridge hammock to a gathered end hammock if you want. Well have them with us either way.
I have an extra ENO Dry Fly if you want to hang it over your DIY.
Those will be good additions Gumbo.
I'll let you know about the ENO Dry Fly as we get a little closer. Thanks.

I'm bringing the following: WBBB 1.1 DL with OES SpinnUL tarp; HULBA (2Q/ZQ mod3 zipper)with OES SpinnUL tarp, and 1.1 DL Switchback (arriving today) with Warbonnet Superfly Camo tarp. Now I just have to make a couple more sets of "skins", buy some more stakes, and rig some guylines. Plus I'm making another IX weathershield for the WBBB.
