My son and I headed out Saturday for an overnight. We were prepared to hike, but ended up not having to. We drove down a Jeep trail to the primitive camp site. We set up camp and began to gather firewood. By the time we had enough wood, it was time to start dinner. We were done with dinner and roasted some marshmallows, yummy. We were asleep by 9:30. We woke up several times to the owl and coyotes calling out.
Not only was this our first trip, but it was also a below freezing trip. It was 27. We both have Eno's, a sn and dn. My under quilt is a cheap sleeping bag, and I put a poncho liner over my ridge-line for a little more warmth. My son is sleeping on a military ECWS sleeping bag, with a sleeping bag as a quilt. I will be honest, we got a little chilly, but we made it. Looking forward to our next trip.
