    Army Field Liner

How do they compare to Micro Puff P.O, MB UL inner liner or MH Compressor type of jackets in terms of warmth?
I have been looking at replacing an insulating layer and the Field Liner was a smack in the face "DUH - why didn't you think of that one first?"

I have read on WB they work fine but you do have to modify them or is that the pants?

I think the field jacket liner is made of the same material the poncho liner is made of- and I've used a poncho liner as my underquilt for the last two cold weather trips- made it down to about 28 deg's if I remember correctly- and only the slightest chill felt while sleeping- but I like it that way

you do have the option of sewing the armpits shut with the field liner, in regards to modification.

I would add a piece into the arm pit area instead of sewing the opening shut- If the opening is sewed shut I think it would greatly reduce the range of motion without pulling on the rest of the liner

The field jacket liner/pants are made from the same material as the poncho liner. I love both my field jacket liner and my poncho liner. I can't speak as to how they compare to the micro puff or others mentioned but they work great as liners and weight/warmth/cost ratio is very good imho.

I would leave the armpits alone. I really like having that area vented out, especially considering the field jacket liner gets warm quick if you are moving.
