DIY layout and sewing table

How useful is the laser? It looks fantastic.

What's the height of your work surface? I've thought about a variable height table, but it would probably be easier to build up the floor next to the sewing ma... oops, PTI. Any suggestions?

Laser has not been a dramatic improvement so far, but I do use it for laying out long lines. I also use the drywall T square and straightedge.

I just pop the machine out of the table and set aside, drop a plug in the hole and begin layout

Surface height is about 32 inches. Since I needed to have it take down I just used 4 saw horses that were around the house, 2 under each piece. The saw horse supports could also be custom height if built that way.

With the extended edges, the table can be clamped together from below in the 10 X 4 or the 6 X 8 form
