Hey ya'll
As promised, here are some pics of my romp thru the Joshua Tree National Forest in California. Had a blast...not enough essentials for a successful hang so sorted to ground dwellings. All and all...great part of the country. Kinda glad that we went during the winter...can only imagine the heat during the summer.

I was stationed at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base in the early 80's. Went rock climbing and hiking (and camping using a poncho or sheet as a tent) very often in Joshua Tree Monument. I loved it there, always something to do or somewhere to go. We hiked the road from base out into the monument once and found an artesian well bubbling up thru a rock about waist hi, weirdest thing i had seen at that time. water bubbling up thru a rock in the middle of the desert.
Great pictures. Joshua tree is a grat place to camp.
I was stationed out there at 29 Stumps in the 70's and I would spend weekends out at Jousha Tree camping and climbing.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
