    Call Skidaway Island State Park or Jekyll Island State park and talk to the Rangers, They will help you get "out There" on the Beach. They will let you know how far you should go and you will know how far you can go. Remember Leave no Trace and it's somtimes better to ask forgiveness than permision ;}

    Up here in the north, you gota have winter garb. I plan on getting more this year so I can get out more next winter.

    I have been out twice this year, and with a good weekend planed for my B-day in two weeks I should have my fix for this winter.

    My last outing was January 8/9. I wanted to get out again this weekend, but working almost 60 hours this week left me feeling pretty wiped out, and I decided I was better off staying home and resting than risking going out on a solo trip and making some kind of stupid mistake because I was so tired. It looks like this next week should be a bit easier on me, and I definitely plan to head out next weekend so as to continue with my goal of getting out into the woods for an overnight trip at least once every month.

    One of my resolutions this year was to get out once a month...

    January - Caddo Lake - check...
    February - I'm running out of days... maybe next weekend
    March - Eagle Rock Loop Trail - CANNOT WAIT
    April - who knows...

    Going to order me one of those new-fangled 2011 ULA Catalysts once they are available (same changes as the 2011 Circuit). Then just try to keep me in the house.

    Shane if you do not get out in Feb just do two in March to make up.
    +1 on the once a month trip Plan.
