In a pinch, can this be done? I know it snaps and sinches up and seems like the sinching would make it even more conducive to this jerry-rigging... Opinions? Facts?

i would think if you ordered a burrow custom built with shockcord running along the sides and ends you could have it be double duty. otherwise i can't see how this could be pulled off...
Could attach GG loops to the corners and run shock cord from them to the suspension. Maybe even add some loops along the side to run shock cord from the sides to the SRL or the side tie outs of the hammock for extra support.
I've not done it with a Burrow. But I believe it would be an easy mod.Attach some grosgrain/webbing loops to the four corners, add some shockcord suspension, cinch the foot and head ends to reduce drafts.
I've done this to another quilt and the results are good.
Give it a shot. Take pics.

awesome ideas, thanks guys.
you basically end up with a jrb style quilt - and stated above- gg on the corners will accomplish this.
i'm going to have adam & jenny mod my summer burrow like this--- when i save the money to actually order it

You could use some Grip Clips to try it out. One at each corner with some shockcord would mimic a JRB style UQ.
Saw this Grip Clip method at Mt. Rogers used to secure a UQ to a Eureka Chrysalis that didn't have optimal attachment points. Worked flawlessly.
If you have a snap footbox, you could possibly even snap them closed and leave the cinch open and use it like a semi Peapod with the footbox wrapped around the foot end of the hammock.
You'd still need the Grip Clip or grosgrain solution for the head end attachment.
This isent a bad idea at all i wonder what a burrow with channel suspension would be like instead of end suspension. It would add more weight but certainly add more versitility. Hum channels on a burrow. Some one order one like this so I can see it :0)
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
The longer length of a topquilt makes channels kind of a moot point, as it will be a full length uq, once converted.
Any minor adjustments can be achieved with the shockcord suspension.

You guys have me pretty optimistic now I want to get a TQ to go with my UQ.. however, in the summer months the GF is going to want to come with me and I know she'll want to use my quilt so if I can convert this burrow I may still be in luck with a decent underquilt when I bring the ball and chain
