Thanks Coldspring for selling the Bridge Hammock.
I need to buy a tarp for the Hammock. Do forum members have any opinions? We get a lot of rain in Minnesota and will need good rain protection, but would like to keep the tarp as lightweight as possible for my old bones when backpacking.

Coverage on a bridge hammock has different requirements than others, because it is widest higher than other hammocks, and at the ends rather than the middle. But the hammock body is shorter (at about 7') than the usual sort. This all pushes one towards one that is more rectangular than hexagonal. An 8' ridgeline is in my opinion minimum, you'll get better coverage from side-blown rain with 9' or 10'. Because of the spreader bars you have to pitch the sides wider, so longer sides are better. I'd guess then that 8'x8' rectangular is the rock-bottom smallest, 9'x9' is better.

Crap. I had talked myself into buying this hammock and now it's sold. I guess I should have bought it when I had the chance.
Maybe another one will come along in the future.

Are you a back sleeper. If so I believe you would really like the hammock at you height and weight. I like the way it tightly snugs me while I'm on my back. It is like floating on air. Really comfortable. Side sleeping is good. Could use more room. I'm 5'7 around 160lbs. I jumped in my Hennessy BUL yesterday to see how it felt compared to the bridge and it was like driving a corvette and then getting in a pinto.
Speaking of a bridge hammock, my webbing came in today. I gotta go sew the webbing to my DIY bridge hammock.....wish me luck.

Oh, I'm gonna build one, for sure. I just figured that I could pick one up, try it out for a while, and then once I build one, resell the BMB. Unless another one comes along before I get my arse in gear, I guess my first bridge hammock will be the one I make for myself.
The only reason that I was hesitant to jump on the deal when the price went down to $150 was I am still waiting to get the JRB 8x8 tarp tent that should hopefully be here anyday now......annnnyyyyy day........just waiting.......for it to come out....any time....and I have been saving for that.
