Me and wags have hiked about 2miles out to table rocks on peters mtn here in south central pa. After dinner and firetalk we are hanging now in our new gear. Me in my new BMBH and leighlo uq, and wags in his new WB traveler and crowsnest. we are both warm and comfortable, and it is high 30s with strong wind gusts. pics and more in morning. goodnight.

I've been up there several times...what a cool place to hang!!! Had to be pretty windy, though. Did you get rocked to sleep? Any crashing branches??
Best part was we were on the southside of the mountain, and though windy, was nothing like the 60mph gusts on the other side(just 40mph). All the gear tests were a success! The BMBH was by far the most comfortable hang I have ever had, and the Leighlo UQ made it one of the warmest. I set my tarp up in a baker hut manner, simply to block some of the wind. Wags found the Traveler to be more than comfortable, and had no reported cold spots in the crowsnest. He set up his tarp in a semi-baker/ grizzbeak formation. Only drawback was that I sidcovered my tarp may be insufficient for the BMBH in a heavy rain, but better to learn that now when it wasn't raining. After spam and eggs and alot of coffee, we hiked the now illuminated 2 miles back in a blustery 40mph wind. All in all, a great time and succesful maiden voyage for alot of new gear! It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

If you can see the JRB stuff sack on the ground near my hammock, It was covering a gnarled stump that was in danger of catching my new UQ if the wind pushed my hammock around. Better safe than sorry.
