I did it. I feel relieved, but left in wanting for obvious reasons.

Thanks guys, I needed the "encouragement".

Kermit Ilove my Blackbird. I bought it with the adjustable webbing and swapped that out for Amsteel whoopies and then dynaglide whoopies only to eventually go back to the adjustable webbing. It is hard to beat the ease and speed of the webbing set-up. Feel free to modify to your hearts content just know that sometimes stock is a great alternative. I do like my removable ridge line so it is more comfortable as a chair (no line in my face) but that mod isn't as commonly talked about.

Love love LOVE my Blackbird. Slept in it outside all last summer & fall. Cold drove me inside to the Brazilian (hammock), but I'll be back out in it when it warms up. I really miss the gear shelf. You'll love it, I promise.

congrats on your purchase decision. I too am awaiting my landing of a blackbird 1.0 dl .

my reasoning was simple, I secured funds for the purchase knowing full well if I don't like it I should be able to get my money back reselling it here.

which leads me to the question of questions to all the die hard BB fans. IF the BB is all that and a bag of chips why then oh why, pray tell are there always BB's for sale here?

    don't hate just cause I think :P

I know in different , addiction/hobby likes of mine, the used items being sold the most are one, not all that great and over hyped , flavor of the month.

in online forums, its often a follow the leader sort of thing, (particularly with purchases, and YES I too am guilty ) many folks talk the BB up so much here that in return, many want to then try this BB hammock. that is my take on it.

so obviously there are those, from proof of so many resales, that don't find the BB to be their best option.... rebuttal?

I recently sold my 1.7 double & 1.7 single Blackbirds. The reasoning behind it was.. The double was overkill for what I needed. The single didn't work for me at my weight. I still have both my 1.1 double Traveler & Blackbird. And I just ordered a 1.0 double Blackbird. So the Blackbird is my hammock of choice, it's just that a couple of flavors of it didn't work for me.

The pain of the purchase will only last for a moment but the joy of it will last a lifetime!!!!

I was in the Army. I'm not used to having things that are top of the line, which added to the pain of deciding whether or not I should buy it.

We called such mentality, "Being in the suck".

The transition to civilian life didn't go smoothly. The first job I got out was a rude awakening to how frustrating the civilian workforce can be....

I'm just gonna stop because this is a tangent and I am notorious for tangents.
