    #&%&"#% Incubator!!!

Sorry for the headline, but that was what was going through my mind after my first outdoor hang with my new 425$ Winter Incubator.

To be fair let me explain; I've hung my rig in our yard hoping to see some aurora borealis, and to try out my new toy. The weather forecast had promised temp's around 12dg F and clear weather, so with no chance of precipitation i didn't care to pitch my tarp(it would have ruined my view to).
With the cold weather expected i used two sleeping bags for a topquilt(1 , season summer downbags inside each other).

I geared up for the night and adjusted everything to be snug and comfortable, and pretty soon.....zZzz..... feeling sleepy.... yawn.... soo comfortable...zZzz.....

08.00am i woke up, freezing bitterly(actually so bad that my left side of my body was more or less numbed) And i cursed bigtime - here i got the ultimate winter quilt and i can't keep warm
Well after a little examination i realized the problem; the suspension had stretched overnight - leaving a 4 inch gab beneath me.

So after getting up'n'out and getting some tea brewing, i start to wonder why my new toy live up to standard. And then the mystery starts to unravel - our outdoor thermometer showed a chilly 5F low and a fresh breeze. Leaving me with a chill factor temp at -27F(brr... this is cold)!?!

I send Thorwrem and StormCrow a silent apology nothing wrong with their outstanding products - just the weather gods having a good time Remember that i didn't use any tarp and and had the wind coming directly on my side.

So next night i made a little "mod". I installed a pierce of shockcord on the middle right tieout, with a cordlock on. And a little carabiner on the other middle tieout.

    Like this

If the shockcord it placed like on the picture, a little pull will release it(this is hand for those nightly excursions)

Her you can see it attached

This solved my problem in a jiffy, no more cold back. The following night we had pretty much similar conditions and even though my top sleepingbag was covered with frost - i was toasty warm and no more sagging under quilt

So a big thanks and some kudos to hammock gear for delivering such an amazing quilt, i can't really ad anything to what others have said - there simply ain't enough superlatives to describe what my opinion is
They were also very helpful throughout the ordering process(i had an upcoming trip) Unfortunately it missed my departure, not because of Hammockgear - but because our local post service, took as long to deliver from the airport, as it took to send the quilt from hammockgear to the danish customs

HA. you can't say you wasn't warned
I have been nagging about this for 6 months

I installed a solution very similar to yours, i nicked it from Shug !
But i never needed it, because i switched to thicker (white boating) shock cord.

    And my butt is warmish

Did you see any northern light then ?

It's actually an annexe, the old lady who used to live here was running a Yoga school - and she used this for classes....

But it's really funny to live in a log cabin in my neighborhood - within 1/2 mile we have an authorized Ferrari dealer - big contrast her

    @Tunerminator
Thanks mate, just swing by and i'll give you the low down

The most amazing part is that i can use it indoor to! We have around 65f indoor and with a light summer bag on top , i'm just perfect - how's that for a temp range?

    Low down! Ha

Thats some serious flexibility. I've been doing things opposite-been using my summer bag in the cold-I'm still warm.

I had to use my UQ last week on the ground as a top quilt to boost my summer bag, works a treat too.
