I will second the zip-ties (aka cable ties) are the way to go. very quick, cheap, get 'em at you local hardware store. and they hold great. every hennesey hammock out there uses them I think.

Tim... I have seen my attachment knot that does not use separate whipping but has the whipping incorporated in the wrapping/knot itself and works fine with the 7/64 or 1/8 AmSteel not work with thicker 3.8 mm Spyder Line that has a sheath with a lot more friction. That surprised me and I haven't figured out if it was so thick that it could not choke down to a small enough radius to clamp down and hold or the extra friction impeded how well it was able to cinch and clamp down.
