Newbie from North Alabama

I am pretty new to this. I have only hammock camped a couple times, as having kids always occupied all my time, and a wife occupied all my money. Now I am getting divorced (yeah, I have money to buy gear) and the kids go visit their mom 1st and 3rd weekends (I have time). So I figured it is a great time to go all out.

I will start another thread in a proper forum asking for gear critiquing later. I look foward to learning from you guys and maximizing my enjoyment of the great outdoors.

Well, I am currently going through the divorce. But it helps that I have custody of the kids, she no longer has access to my bank account to blow my money, and I got a job w/ about a 20% raise after we split up. So yeah, I guess I am pretty lucky on that one.
