    MacCat Micro over Warbonnet Blackbird

I'm sure someone has beat me to posting some pictures of a MacCat Micro over a Blackbird, but I've had a lot of folks ask for it......so here are a few. Genuine Draft agreed to model for a few minutes before taking a nap in the Bird.

I decided to sleep out back last night since I was setting up anyway. As you can see, I wasn't worried about any rain or snow. I pitched the tarp high so I could have a nice view and good conversation with my Boys. BTW, I've got a great coyote/cannibal/donkey story from last night, but that will be told in the "Backpacks Suck!" thread over on the donating side. Anyway, I tried to get several angles for you folks. You can see that even pitched 'loosely' and high, it still covers the hammock fairly well. This is a tarp that is going to require its user to use some landscape if caught in a storm, but it will cover the hammock and all the necessary goodies.

I'll see if I can get permission to sleep outside again, apparently the dog was displeased with my absence last night. If I sleep outside tonight, I'll pitch it low and tight in storm mode and get some pictures of that too. You can see The Boys were curious about what we were doing.

    Trust nobody!

i set up the sil micro over a HHUL at the ohio hang. didn't sleep in it, i was in the bmbh--- but, we expected rain and sleet, and sure got it sunday night.

the micro kept the hmmk dry and afforded good coverage. it really does a great job for its namesake.

the spinn looks real nice cannibal! i love the sewn ridge seam. really offers the nice tight sharp ridgeline.

Thanks Cannibal! Those are some great pictunes. I was lucky enough to be with Rip waverly at the ohio hang and see his micro and give it a lay underneath in the ul backpacker. It seemed plenty sufficiant enough for a down pour and it rained pretty good sunday night. Its nice to see one over a blackbird. It was honestly a little bigger in person than I made it out to be in my head.

Just ordered a standard and went back in forth forever last week on which to get. I hope to have a micro one day to.

location is going to be key when using this tarp in heavy rain ...
but i don't see it being to big of a problem ...but your right in a sideways rain your going to take on some water ... thats why location is going to be key
or a undercover....i figure even with a undercover it will be under 10oz ...still not bad for a summer tarp setup

but if they are calling for lots of rain i would take my JRB 11x10 ... more room to cook under
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
