HH delux Xplorer doesn't mix with hammock stand...help plz

Just got home from Target with a new hammock stand and i tightened it up as taught as i could without snapping my bug nets ridge line. The suspension line is straight across (45") high and when i get into the hammock I am laying on the crossbar that is running along the floor

Not a huge deal cuz when spring hits i plan to get one of those netting hammocks for my wife and I to lay in the back yard and I'm sure it will work with one of those.

I got it mainly for the purpose of getting my setup the way i want it without fighting the two feet of snow in my back yard that has crusted over and can "almost" hold my 265 lbs which means i keep breaking through half the time, trust me it's hilarious to watch.

I thought about cutting the ridgeline about halfway and putting loops in it that i can carabiner back to normal when i use it on the trail. Just so i can pull it tighter in the stand but it doesn't seem like I have alot of slack in the netting anyway so it would make cutting the ridgeline a moot point.

And in case you were wondering, yes it was quite comical seeing me use the bottom entry that close to the floor to get in and out at almost ground level

Anyone try this set up and could you get it to work or should i just bite the bullet and hack all of the frozen snow out of my way and do it right???

I not sure which stand you have. But I had to modify mine.
I took one of the ends to a muffler shop and had them fab two 24" extension. These were stuck on the ends and secured with a bolt and nut to keep them from leaning and spinning to the side. This gave the height needed for my HH's and tarps.

Something like that came to me last night while i was sitting on the couch watching TV and glaring angrily at the hammock stand lol.

Regardless, the way i was trying to string it tight to get it up in the air would mean that it would not be in the right hang to make it usable anyways.

I have a feeling that if I put similar extensions on mine my 265 lbs may have a chance of bending something out of wack so I'll just clear the area outside and wait for my UQ to come in and do it right.

This is the one i bought it was on sale for $99.99...

The extensions i was thinking about would make it look like this....

So I think that the longer leverage added to my weight may be too much for the lower part to keep its shape and it may fail and then be totally unusable.

Very nice set up. I see you hang with some cute munchkins there lol. My boy is 17 now and i have to look up to talk to him.

Maybe that would work for me but i will prolly just wait till i get the snow out and the few small trees that are in the way of the two i want to use to come down. Mostly because my hammock is bottom entry so i will need it to be higher.

Kudos on the fabrication it looks real good. And tyvm for the pics.

I find the arms on my stand move a fair bit. Try creating a structural ridgeline between the uprights to eliminate movement and then try hanging your Hennesy. I just took some cord and tied and tightened the uprights together. You may need to have someone help you.

Does your stand flex a lot? I have to pre-flex my Vario stand with every thing but my Claytor. I usually do this by pulling the HH Explorer Rl ridiculously tight. But when I get in, the RL will be still a little loose, after flex. Sometimes I have flexed it with a separate strong rope or ratchet strap.
