No problem with the electric, but....
As the weather turns frigid here in Ohio. Each piece of fabric I handle in the basement attracts every minute particle of dust, lint & cat hair in my entire house. Makes it look like I live in filth. I've resorted to spraying down each finished project with a water bottle and shaking to release the dirty payload. Then carefully packaging it without letting it touch the floor. With noseeum, it seems darn near impossible to get all the junk off it.

Add a drop or two of fabric softener to your spray bottle. Works wonders. You can also spray your carpets... lightly...

I made a TQ using Insul-brite. It's a space blanket needle punched between 2 layers of 1/16" thick scrim/batting, fleece inside, and nylon outside. On a dry night, every little wiggle charges that baby up... only to discharge to some undesired spot on my body... It's like wearing a Van De Graaff generator...

Knotty brings up a good point that the static charge can cause a whole world of hurt on electronic thread injectors. I like to use a grounded item like a lamp to disapate the static charge but I pick up my scissors and touch my finger to the side of the blade then tap the light with them so the discharge is between the scissors and the light base.

Static is my constant companion. Out here in Colorado, we power our computers just by shuffling socked feet on the carpet as we type.

I guess there is one thing I miss about humid Florida after all.

True.... After a few hundred shocks a day your fingers will numb to the charge... NOT.... but at least it is not a surprise...
