I'd go with a 4x4 design:

4x4 uprights and base. 2x4 braces (2 on each end) like is posted above... If you use a strap hinge, I'd get a big one and use 1/4" lag bolts to secure it.

If you're going to do that I would recommend putting wheels on it, it's gonna be pretty darn heavy!

Very good point. The other option would be to lag bolt a 2x6 into the studs/top-plate of opposing walls where the ceiling joists are in-line with the hammock... add a forged eye to the 2x6, but you might want to check with an engineer....
