    Helloooo from Overland Park, KS

I am new to hammock camping. I bought my son a hammock for a scout campout and it looked like fun so I picked one up for myself.

I've only had it out three times but I love it! I can't wait to learn from all of you on how to make it even better.

I got turned on to the forum by Shug's videos on youtube--wow how fun are those! I love the community that you all have created here.

    Thanks, Mads

I have a ENO double nest and I'm not sure of my son's but it is a parachute type nylon hammock similar to the ENO.

Howdy neighbor! I hail from the Tiger side of the state line; but I own a business in Olathe; so I've become pretty accustomed to working with J-birds

But hammocking knows no collegiate bounds; so I welcome you with open arms to our little community!!!!!

Like you and your son, my interest in backpacking was re-kindled several years ago after making trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. What an awesome experience that was! Wisdom and age (i.e. an "old" back) later taught me the advantages of getting off the ground. I've never looked back.

The road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.

Welcome to HF ! You sound like me, I fell in love with hammocks the first time I climbed in one. Have not slept on the ground in a tent since.

My Mom and her side of the family all live south of St. Jo, MO. I was just there last weekend, on vacation from Honduras (that just sounds backwards, doesn't it?). My Uncle kept calling folks with KS plates Jay-Birds. Took me a minute to figure out why.

Welcome Mads! I'm actually in OP too, but didn't list it because I figured "who'd know where that is?"...LOL

Got my HH explorer in today. Still waiting to get youngest son's setup (HH expedition) in.

I'm hoping we can put together a KC area hang sometime this spring. Hopefully we can get something together!
