My first overnight paddle camping trip of the year---very much looking forward to this. Had a dusting of snow on the roof yesterday morning-enough is enough already!

I've been jonesin' to go since the Fl Hang in Ocala. Winter is over. Weather should be 60s at night, 80s during the day. The bugs haven't shown up yet. A sweet ocean breeze. It's Perfecttt! The dolphins are calling... So why am I not there yet???

Thanks Gumbo. Buddy's been upset with me lately. He got excited when you said he could use your yaks and then I had to break it to him that we couldn't make this trip. Nothing's more sad than a disappointed buffalo.
Was even better this morning with 3 inches on the ground. I did my little 2 mile walk in the forest and was saddened knowing that winter is almost over--but at 22F I also knew it was still very much winter for at least the moment.
I was thinkin' (uh oh) about everyone making an alky stove during the hang and since we are from Orlando, we could call it the orlando-group-alcohol-stove-making party! ( gasp! ...would that be the OrGASM party!? )
If y'all have an interest in - ahem... such a party, let me know. We will bring some heavy duty aluminum bottles (thank you Kermegan ) and all the tools. All you would have to bring is a bottle of fuel (get a cheapo bottle of Yellow Heet - not Red Heet - from Walmart or Pep Boys). Then you'll have a souvenir of the hang.
Cool idea, huh?
This is basically what we're talking about. Whatdoyall think?

Great idea. I've made a couple of different alcohol stoves but never this style.
I was planning to try a new caldera cone tri-ti this trip and will only be there Thursday night so not a big deal if I don't have a chance to make one.
Looking forward to the trip...
