This might be getting confusing to some.
Jefferson Creek Camp Ground and the trail we will be hiking on is in Park County not Jefferson County.
Park County has a stage 1 ban right now.
You can read the details here:
http://www.parkco.us/index.aspx?NID=402
There were morning fires in the campground and the Camp Hosts had no issues with them.
I also saw no fire ban signs at the campground entrance info board.
INFO Item:
In Jefferson County they have a stage 2 ban.
If there is a fire ban the trail will be well marked.
This photo is from the CT segment 2 which is in Jeffco.

it seems like jeffco is always under a fire ban unless it rains for a week straight. the signs are everywhere in bear creek.
i have good news and bad news about the week. good news is i managed to pick up and esbit stove and new cook kit for the trip. it also looks like i might have a new uq by then too. bad news is two guys dropped out on me. three if you count the bf. (he cant miss school during the week). they dont have the money to go. its a for sure with me and hopefully one other friend but she hasnt given me a final answer yet. i believe that slightly changes up the roaster, but not by much.

I can put some firewood in the truck. That is if we can use it. What are the regulations on out of state firewood from Nebraska?
Can cutoffs from kiln dried construction lumber be imported?
If the locals have all the wood that is needed I will not bring any.
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
from what ive been told, only in state wood is allowed. food or outandback could probably say more since they have been here longer. i dont know if that goes for lumber or just firewood cut logs.

Jeffco has had 3 or was it 4 major forest fires in the Pike NF over the past 12 years and they are a bit jumpy these day. I expect the Stage 2 ban to be in effect all year.
Sorry to hear some of your friends can't make it Tex. Glad to hear you still can.
Thank you for the offer WB.
I've never heard of imported fire wood being an issue but that doesn't mean there aren't rules out there I'm unaware of.
Me personally, I'd be far more worried about Co Western Slope wood coming over to the Eastern Slope.
The Western Slope is 60% dead from pine beetles. Very depressing.
When I had pack horses all hay in state or out had to be certified weed free so there might be rules on wood.
I'm not offering to be the sole wood provider since we all know that's a lot of work.
I do plan to throw a little fire wood in the SUV to help supplement our evening fires if they allow fires.
I don't think your allowed to gather wood in these type of campgrounds but they do sell wood in the stores in Jefferson.

It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

If there is a concern regarding western slope pinyon wood, I will be happy to let you guys furnish all the wood.

Here's a little info for all.
This a very bad shot of WalkingBears campsite 12.
Since there were peeps camping when we drove by at 8AM I didn't want to intrude.
Later we did walk thru the site. It's very flat and open up front.
Back behind that tent is a large area with lots of tree and a small stream.
Here's a shot of Taozenqi's site 13. Just across the road from 12.
The site is a bit sloped, a bit narrow but very deep.
Many nice hammock trees up there.
I can't thank you two guys enough for your forward thinking in reserving
these spots.
For all that share a pair of tree with these guys please remember
these site weren't free and offer to supplement there expense.
