    Colorado summer hang

Out'N'Back and I will be doing a summer hang follwed by a hike. The hang will be in the Jefferson Lake area followed by a hike over Georgia Pass to Breckenridge.

Jefferson Lake is between Fairplay and Kenosha Pass.

The hike is 27 miles which we will do in three days and two nights. Georgia Pass generally is doable by the third week in June.

When is a good time for everyone else?

Don't know how I missed this post.

If anyone is interested in reading a little about what to expect on a trip like this here a pretty good
trip report from back in 2003.

How about July 9th or 23rd? Might want to avoid Breckenridge on the weekend of July 16, believe that's the annual Breckenridge 100 bike race.

Late June is better than July for me
Could make July work if other could not make it in late June.

Taozenqi, are you suggesting 7/9 or 7/23 because you'd like to join us?

Open Invite to all HF members: If you've ever dreamed of hiking / hanging amongst the big gray rocks of the Colorado Rockies
and/or hiking over the Conti Divide @ 11,800ft. This would be the trip to take. You won't find more
breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains than on this segment of the Colorado Trail. Come join us.

    OutandBack,
Yep, considering joining you, otherwise I'd keep my $.02 within my own self-mutterings. I've been considering the entire CT in 2012 and this would be a supportive introduction. June will probably not work in my schedule as my class will still be in session. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see what develops.

    Hi Food,
Were you thinking, a car camp hang at Jefferson Lake for a night or two then head out for the 3 day 2 night hike/hang to Breckenridge?

The trail has been rerouted away from the Swan River Road. Going west after the Missouri Gulch blue symbol the trail goes high. The trail is about 10,200 at Missouri Gulch, but goes up to almost 11,200 before you get to Highway 9.

But the Swan River Road is a good bail out route.
