Tying Tarp Cord to Tree Huggers?

So the issue with hanging around my area are the sappy pine trees, which forces me to use tree huggers (store them separately so I don't get everything sappy).
So the question is how should I tie off my tarp?
The idea method around here is tying to the tree directly (below the hammock tie off), but that'll get my cord all sappy.
What would be the next best idea? I was thinking of tying off to the rings on my tree huggers. I shouldn't get too much sag when I get in right?
Any other suggestions? Tree huggers for the tarp?

How about a piece of surgical tubing to run the cord through to protect it? I'm sure there are plenty of other good ideas, but that seems as if it'd work. Or just wrap the cord around the tree and wash it in hot water when you get home.

Since the tarp doesn't bear nearly as much weight as the hammock, there's really no danger of the rope causing damage to the bark. So......why not make a "tree hugger" out of the same line as the tarp. A six-foot length of lightweight line with two loops tied in the end will weigh practically nothing and can be stored seperately from the tarp (just store it with the sappy tree huggers you use for the hammock).

Deploy it just like a regular tree hugger.
