I am interested in making my own hammock. Are there plans out there that will help? Also what materials will I need for this project? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, BABO

Get a Speer's sew your own kit and then start designing your own gear from there. You can always sell your Speer once built. That's probably what I'd do given my limited sewing experience.

What FF said. I made my first hammock following Jeff's page before I ever even found this site. Most of us use Wal-Mart dollar bin ripstop nylon, but you can find it at Hancock fabrics as well, it is just more $$ there. There are a lot of threads here that talk about different fabrics. Just experiment and good luck.
