    My Superfly Setup

Just finished rigging my Superfly and wanted to share. I followed the "carabiner around the tree back to the line" technique from the stock BB suspension and use plastic fig 9s for tension.
First, no hardware in the stuff sack. Hardware is contained in the outside of the two clips on the S-biner, and then I clip the drawstring for the stuff sack (behind the cordloc) on the inside clip of the S-biner. Slippery half hitch the loose end of the drawstring. Looks like this:

Unclip hardware / hardware into pocket / ridgeline is slippery half hitched to rings and uni-knotted to the S-biner / S-biner around tree back onto the line / place figure 9 / pop the half hitch and setup:

I handled the doors as Brandon recommends, with shock cord and loops over the opposing corner stakes. For binding the doors on the inside I tied an additional loop and then capture those on the inside with a NiteIze mini plastic S-Biner. Looks like this:

    And this:

    Anyway, thanks for the audience!

Do you use a figure 9 on each tie out?

I did use Fig9's on all the tieouts. I have a length of line pretied to each of the tieout points, then after the ridgeline is up, I throw a Fig9 on the tieout using the "inline" mode. I'm pretty happy, goes up quick and is pretty versatile. Admittedly it's first trail time will be a couple weeks down the road.

Have you thought about using a tautline hitch? I have attached figure 9's to my stakes before, but it seems it would be a hassle putting them on each line?

I admit the Fig9 has a learning curve, but once you've got it they are really REALLY easy. I'm not the best at retaining knots, unless it's one of a few I keep in the ol noggin for fishing!

...I stink at knots as well...

...but once I found out how to tie a trucker's hitch, it replaced about 90% of the figure 9's I used before. Now, I use two figure 9s for connecting the tarp to the tree, but for all stakes, trucker's hitch is the way for me now. Surprisingly, it impresses my wife when she sees me tie them...

....also the trucker's hitch is pretty good at securing cargo to your...truck...

    a pretty handy knot...
