    Tarp for Nano 7

Been rigging up a ultralight rig for summer. So far I have the Nano 7 with DG whoppies and a 3/4 Baby Orca IX UQ on order. I am looking for a ~ 5 oz or better tarp. Would love to try cuban fiber but don't know which one to get. Where/when I camp rain is unlikely but still possible. I guess I need a sunshade and a just in case tarp. Also, i would like to use this tarp with my Blackbird as well. Can anyone recommend a tarp? Make and model/specs would be very helpful. If I can't find one in Cuban I most likely will get a MacCat Micro in Spin UL.

    Thanks,

    S.

I used my GoLite poncho/tarp over my HH backpacker last weekend, and it worked well. It even rained and I stayed dry. It weighs in at 7oz.

Was just going to suggest MacCat Micro.

    But cubin options include:

    Zpacks cubin hammock tarp 5.1oz

MLD's Cubin tarp comes in at ~8oz

I have the 8 x 10 ZPacks cuben. I chose it over the 11 x 7 hammock version because I can pitch it in tent style with ends closed for winter or in bad storms. I used it last month on Roan Mtn in 4' of snow, 1.8 degrees and 40 mph winds. It worked great and held up to the winds just fine.

It may be a little heavier than ya want, but I have been using the Grand Trunk ATHH as a tarp over my Nano7. It is their All Terrain Hybrid Hammock, it's listed on their site weighing 1.25lbs but it doesn't feel that heavy. It's 10'x6' and it gives good minimal coverage.

Southmark, This is something I never considered. Seems to makes sense. Do you have any pictures of the 8x10 set up over your hammock?

I did have a couple but I think that I erased then. If the weather is ok tomorrow afternoon I will make a couple and post them. I miss-quoted the size. Mine is 8.5 x 10. He now lists an 8.5 x 11 plus of course he will custom make one for you. I had extra tie-outs added on the 10' sides and two each on the walls.
