I recently got a thread injector from a very nice lady. A Husqvarna Optima 610. It included several "feet" including the one in the pics. The Instruction Manual does not show this one. Anybody know what its for? The orange thumbwheel is used to adjust it. One the pics is blurry i know, but i wanted to show the + and - and the arrow.
Just a guess here...does the thumbwheel move the right edge left and right? If so, it looks like the right edge would be used as a guide for hem width.

Blind hem foot.
Heres an image of a different model, but same basic theory as yours. Obviously the wheel is for adjusting the hem size/width as JerryW said.

Well the wife is stumped. Blind hemmers are not usually adjustable in that way in my experience.. The bed does not move sideways as a width guide would do. I'm still thinking cord/piping foot. The thumbwheel would adjust for fabric thickness. It looks like there is a groove on the underside of the bed to allow the cord/piping to track properly.

Blind hemmers come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and configurations. Upon comparing the bind hem foot to mine it think that is indeed what it is. But the thumbknob is likely a thickness adjustment rather than a width adjustment. My blind hemmer has no width adjustment whatsoever. But the configuration is the same including the groove in the bottom.

The "thumbwheel" moves the little black shaft left or right, as viewed from the front. Which would, I guess, then (when attached to the machine) move the foot itself back and forth.

Well I think it's obvious that it's a Gadget Foot and you should use it whenever you sew Gadgets.
