What scale for weighing gear?

Ok, I finally decided that I need a digital scale for weighing the gear that I make and buy... just finding it difficult to decide what to get.
I want the cheapest thing that will work reliably.

I want to weigh really light things like alcohol stoves, as well as bigger things like hammocks, tarps, TQs, UQs, etc.
Maybe even some DIY backpacks.
Would be nice if it could handle weighing boxes for postage also, maybe up to 10 or 15 lb.

Is there a scale that will do up to 10 or 15 LB and still be accurate to small-ish fractions of a gram... and still be relatively inexpensive (as in, less than $35)?

If you have a digital scale that you use and like, please share what it is and why you like it.
Or if you have/had one you didn't like, warn me about it please.

I have 2 scales. One is a 3 lb Postal scale that weighs in ounces and grams. I bought it off ebay yrs ago. The other is a 11 lb scale that only weighs in ounces. Not sure of the brand but I bought it at Aldi for less than $ 10.00

interested for responses -- I been using a postal scale. however seems accurate as once I got my WBBB & 3s burrow the postal scale showed the same weight as what they post on their site for these product weights..

eventually need to upgrade to digital

Got mine at wally's.


Uses a small watch battery and has not died yet. $30, iirc.

Edit: I went cheap at first, and the cheapo scale would weigh different when weighing the same item repeatedly. So it may be worth it to spend a touch more to get the reliability you asked for. I returned the cheap one ($15) and got the other model.

I got mine from Target, but it is basically the same version as Wally's, but uses AA batteries. If you live near a post office, most of them have postal scales in the same area as the PO boxes, and after hours it is still available. I used it to weigh my big stuff, and most of the rest until I finally bought mine. I did draw a few odd looks when I hauled all my stuff out of my backpack and started weighing things. Just remember to step out of the way for paying customers.

I picked up a 5 lb capacity scale at the local Harbor Freight, does pounds, ounces and grams.
