Hey a few of you have this, have you set up in serious windy storms and how has it held up?

There was an Old Man with a owl,
Who continued to bother and howl;
He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.WOO
So far, so good. No hurricanes yet, but some good breezes at the beach.
I am new to hammock camping but have a variety of cuban items and have ordered a cuban tarp for my hammock. Of all the guys on BPL and from my own personal experience I have not heard nor seen a cuban failure from a reputable manufacturer.
(tarp or tent I mean)
If you treat it as light sil you will be fine, if you treat it like a truck tarp, it will fail. At 5-6 oz for a full tarp even with doors, though I will take the responsibility to take care of my tarp and use it responsibly.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
I have used my diy cuben tarp in some fairly hi winds with no prob. It is a about a 9 ft (2X the 54 in width) X 11 ft. length. It has no sewed seams, just a glue strip center. (no sewing) I need to put a beak or 2 on it for further wind protection I suppose. . Incidently I have sewed a very lite .33?? C on the under side of my UQ, good for wind stopping, and preventing spindrift. adds prob .5 or so oz. and I have had no condensation probs. I aslo use a C hammocks, . I have a C bridge and a gathered end, Need to make another gathered Mine is not long enough, I may try the floppy side bit with some sort of a stretchy thingy.................................gnome
From what I used it was awesome. Sold it waiting for an olive green from Zpacks.
