First timer greetings from northern VA

Hi,

I ve lurking here for the past week reading, and decided to join to try something new after some people have arguing the merits of sleeping off the ground. Now I just need to choose one and order a hammock.

My only experience with hammocks are reading in the backyard and taking a small nap on a nice sunny day - those kinds of hammocks.

When I switched to a neoair pad for ultra light backpacking I thought it almost too luxurious but I heard sleeping in a hammock is even more so....

So far, this looks like a great community which I hope I ll be able to properly contribute to one day.

Welcome! I tried air matresses too, on the ground and thought that was comfortable. Then I discovered hammocks and laying on nothing but air
