With ya glp! Ill carry the extra 8oz-16oz to have comfortable sleeping and attempt to cut weight everywhere else. I thought about and still am thinking about giving the grand trunk nano 7 a shot but don't know if I could sacrifice the comfort of the black bird for the weight savings.

i found my night's sleeps just as restful in my traveler as in my blackbird.

    weight

I cant comment on how comfortable a hammock is, as mine hasnt arrived yet, but do have some insight to weight.

I try very hard to keep my pack weight down. I also try not to get anal about it, as to me comfort sleeping is as important as comfort hiking.

Funny thing, my wife was into bike racing. i never got into it, but i use to watch guys spend MAJOR money on a part to save a few grams. These same guys were often 10-15lb overweight. It use to crack me up to no end to hear them talk. It always seemed spending the 400 dollars for that new shiny part was easier than getting in shape.

while I can make the statement that a few extra ozs on every peice in my pack is worth the comfort, a few extra ozs on specific pieces is.

    YMMV
