What do you guys think would be more practical? Doing a different weekend than Memorial day or change of trail? I've never been to SHT, so, I have no idea what it's like.
Great maps btw Pizza. I need to figure out how to get ones like that.

The NCT in Wisconsin is a great trail and you are allowed to camp anywhere along it. About the same distance from the Twin Cities.
Here is video from the first HF Hang on there.

I will be keeping my eye on this one. I would really like to meet up with the HF folks on the trail one of these fine years...
Have an engagement planned for late May in the BWCA, and free weekends are generally sparse for me given family obligations and work. I'll abstain from voting as the likelihood for me is small. But if the chosen dates are free, I'll be there.

I like the idea we could camp any where along the trail and in a group.
Thanks for bringing the NCT up Shug.
Sorry I missed hiking with you on the SHT, will get out next winter !
Glad you had a good trip.

The NCT...looks pretty cool. I never been there but I've heard good things. Anybody know anything about the Iceage trail? I haven't been there either. I know it's one of the long trails and has a lot of rocky terrain like Superior's coast and SHT.
Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!
i like the idea of the nct as i have hiked sections of it here in michigan and one of my bucket list items is to hike the nct even if i do it in sections.

I organized the spring hang last year and although there was the water issue it went well, although I think we should look further east from where we were last year. Hey Fronkey I only live about 40 min from the sectio here. If you want to talk about it some more send me a message.
Hey man, I'm not really organizing this event. I think it's more of a group discussion. But, any input you have would be awesome!
The NCT seems like it may be better than going to the SHT on memorial day weekend. Plenty of trees and being able to hang any where sounds great to me.

freedom is what its all about. time to start narrowing down a few spots on the nct.
