    help with suspension

Hello HF people, I just ordered my first hammock for backpacking today, a Warbonnet Blackbird 1.1 DL. This is all new to me so bare with me. I'm kinda a gram weenie, moving to a hammock is raising my solo pack weight by 18 oz. (kinda a lot). My question is I see a lot of people switching out their suspension so what is the absolute lightest rig out there including huggers. I'm new to this! So if you could describe in detail these setups I would appreciate it. Thanks Kurt

I may be wrong but I believe dynaglide whoopie slings with an aluminum arrow shaft toggle is the lightest set up. That and 1"(or even 3/4") wide by 5/6/7/8/etc (depending on the size of your trees) foot tree huggers.

SgtRock has a nice lightweight rig described here . If I remember right that was part and parcel of his sub 5 lb base weight system.

can't get there starting with your Blackbird.

But you'll be living the life of Riley inside that thing. Tradeoffs.

    Hi Krshome

Have a look at this one.

It's the weight's I saved going from the stock WB straps to dynaglide whoopies, 1" tree straps and toogles

    Hope that helps.
