WBBB 1.1 or 1.7 (and colors)

Hey everybody... I'm having a tough time deciding what I want to get. Sorry if I ramble a bit here... I just got off a series of 14 hour shifts. I'm a bit punchy

First of all, I'm 6' and weigh between 175-185lbs. I want to get a WBBB double, but should I get it in 1.1 or 1.7? Also, I was looking on the website and he mentioned a slate green / grey. I have NO idea what that looks like. Is it like foliage green?

I want to get a color that doesn't stick out. If anybody could give me advice on the 1.1 vs 1.7 dilemma and or post pics of the colors so I could compare, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I want to get the double 1.1, but I thought I heard somewhere that the 1.7 was desirable as it helped prevent mosquitos etc from successfully "flanking" you. Well... off to bed. Thanks everybody for your advice and help. I'm really excited to get one of these hammocks.

    David

I'd go with the 1.1 dl or even the 1.0 dl. Either will be perfect for your weight. The 1.7 dl would be overkill for sure.

The slate grey looks very foliage green when it is in light, and more grey when it is dark. As for mosquitos, it's actually the 1.1/1.0d that is said to block mosquitos, not the 1.7. I would say it is probably because of the calandering, or it could be because of a tighter weave.

At your weight, get the 1.0d if you dont have anything against imported stuff. I'm 205 and the 1.1d is great. I'd say it could probably take a bigger guy at that too. 1.7d is overkill for you.

it's different than the older grey i've used, it's a dark earth-tone, has an obvious green tint, but a bit grey too, it definately won't stand out, very woodsy looking

The Warbonnet website now has more detailed information on picking the right hammock for a given size. It's in the 'Hammocks 101' section.
I am 6'3" and 190#. I was looking at the 1.7 oz but Brandon told me that was not needed for my weight. If I get a Warbonnett it will be the 1.1 double.
As for color, there is a picture of the 1.1 in slate grey on the Warbonnet site - I think the color is better - maybe even less noticable than the olive green of the 1.7.
As for insect protection, I would think that the double layer bottom of either would do the job.
