Special K.... all I gotta say is THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Just got back from HD and all the equipment cost $2.99. A lot cheaper than the actual device. Works great at home... I will try it in the field next time I go.

Plus, Since I use cheap Wally World trekking pols, they are not listed on the sticpic site so I can't buy one even if I wanted to. Now I am good to go.

    thanks again.

I jsut made a quick video for YouTube and once I get that proccessed and uploaded, I will let you know.

    You got ALL THE CREDIT.....

we all really need to give credit to the original stickpic. Like I said before these works really well but the real thing is such a clean design. I also have cheap walking poles and I believe that the size #2 stickpic will fit those, you could always shoot them an email and check. But I think they are out of stock right now.
Thanks for all the comments everyone.

I agree, the stick pick is a stellar device & even if I make the copy, I'll still use the original. I'm thinking of putting the P clamp up near the grip (so I can use the hiking pole as a Mono-pod) & use the SP as intended!

Then I was just able to feed the bolt in from the inside of the pocket. This got slathered with glue and let set up then the straps replaced.
If this fails I'll definitely be building a stickpic clone at work. Lots of cable clamps and hardware laying around....
Hey I did this and got the stick pic as well, now I am just waiting for the Digital Camera to arrive.

Just made one myself, and it works great. Thanks for the idea. I also mounted a little ball head on it, so its got adjustable angle etc. I already had the ball head cuz I keep it on my gorilla pod, but its easy enough to switch between the two. I can't wait to get out in the field. Did a little walk around the back yard just to try it and I'm hooked. Thanks again, great idea.
    Good luck,

    SpecialK and Doctari,
Thanks for the compliments of the original StickPic design. We have always encouraged folks to make their own StickPics and share their ideas and designs with everybody.

When we gave away 150 free StickPics to the 2008 PCT thruhikers at the ADZPCTKO, we used their comments, feedback and suggestions to make the StickPic what it is today.

Many StickPic DIYers have some great ideas which we may use in our next model. We promise to give credit to where credit is due. I would sleep better at night knowing we did the right thing.

Hike safe and keep inventing your own StickPic!
If I can help, don't hesitate to contact me.

You can get those clamps at Home Depot in the electrical department. They are usually called cable clamps. They be in the same area that sells wire nuts, cable staples and other cable related supplies.

I think thats called gravity! What if you put a light film of rtv or similar product on the i.d. of the stickpic, maybe that would give it some more traction?
