    Backpacking options? Around MD

    Hello all,
I am interested in finding some new spots to go backpaking with my friends, as we go about two to three time a year and I seem to be the one doing the planning. As of late we have been doing Shenandoah and Monongahela, since there is so much to see and do there they just end up being our go to places, but one of my friends asked me to find someplace new to go. I have been looking around on the internet and found a few places such as George Washington National and a few others I can not remember right now. Any help with ideas for a two/three day hike in the maryland and surrounding areas would be great. Looking for loops/circuts with as little backtracking and of course a great place to hang!!!!
    Thanks Scott

You can go north a bit and hit up Caledonia State Park, Pine Grove Furnace State Park, all part of the Micheaux state forest. Head a bit further out west and hit Green Ridge State Park.

    Look at

    http://www.hikingupward.com/ and http://www.midatlantichikes.com/

    for some other options.
