Quick trip to McDonald state research forest

It's been raining like crazy recently, which creates some pretty fantastic green moss displays. Heather (the wife) and I went for a nice dayhike around the "Extendo" loop 5.5 miles with about 700 feet of elevation gain. Brought the ENO with the 3s incubator and had a snack and break at the half way point next to a gurgling stream. Pretty cool old giant had uprooted itself, and now the roots are covered in all kinds of mosses and lichens. I'm not sure this spot ever gets fully dried out!

Hopefully anyone new to/visitng corvallis can use these gps tracks to find this fun hike (cough rip cough)

nice pics, but based on the title screen, "first trip to mcdonald" I was hoping for an after action report of the new double filet of fish sandwich.

I really don't get out into those trails enough. There are literally hundreds of miles of trail within 5 miles of Corvallis in that area. Also recommended is the Mary's Peak wilderness area, lots of nice trails with great views.

Great to see the old stomping grounds again! Did you folks hang there overnight, or was the hammock just for a rest stop?
