I just put in an order on efabricsupplier. Yeah, the prices are a little different from her ebay store, but on her website she offers free shipping for orders over $50. Since the shipping on ebay is $6.99 plus $1 per additional yard, and I ordered 16 yards, I figured I saved $22. More than makes up for the $.50-$1 a yard differences.

Dang it, why didn't I think of that? Actually I wasn't 100% that it was the same person.

I searched efabricsupplier's website for a polyester fabric that would be appropriate for a hammock. Not being that familiar with the various weaves and weights, I would be hesitant to order something I couldn't feel with my own hands. But then I clicked on the camo prints in the nylon fabrics and this one:

    http://www.EFABRICSUPPLIER.COM/product_p/248.htm

is listed as polyester in the description (even though it's in the nylon category). Is anyone familiar with this fabric? Is this the elusive microfiber polyester we've been looking for?

Would it make a good hammock? (I'm thinking less stretchy than nylon, less drafty than nylon.) Do you think it would be strong enough? Light enough for backpacking? Thoughts, please.

I'm officially disappointed. I hadn't gotten any e-mails about the order I placed on the 7th and it was still showing as processing. I emailed and got a prompt response that the 1.9oz ripstop was on back order. I had her cancel my order since I need the fabric ASAP because the hammock needs to be done by the 22nd.

It would have been nice to have gotten an email that something I ordered was out of stock with out having to ask. Nicer even if the site had shown that it wasn't in stock.

I just put in an order at DIYGearSupply for some 1.9oz.

I ordered 7 yards of Pink Crinkle Nylon from fabricsupplier's eBay store to make a double layer hammock for the lady whose thread injector I'm using and abusing. Unfortunately, I was sent the 7 yards in two pieces, one that was roughly 118" and one piece of roughly 210". Unfortunately, for the hammock I'm making I need two pieces of 126" or longer. While I do appreciate that I was sent extra yardage (I'm assuming it was the end of a bolt), it really does nothing for me due to the purpose that I'm using the fabric for.

    So...two questions:
    1) Has anyone else ordered from this supplier and had the same experience of receiving it in two pieces? I did two other orders of 4 yards apiece and got whole pieces.
    2) Does anyone have a direct email for this supplier? I've sent an eBay message inquiring if this is standard practice for the store (basically so I know in the future) and haven't heard anything back.

I do not recommend ordering from them. I ordered from them about a year ago and got 3 short pieces of fabric instead of one piece. Contact them, they told me to return it and they would send one piece of fabric. I sent it it back and they claim they never go it so I am out the fabric and my money.

I will order from DIY Gear Supplier next time I need fabric as I have ordered parts from him in the past and have never had a problem.

Here is the the direct e-mail. [email protected]. I ordered some 1.5oz ripstop for a hammock from Rachel via her direct email. I indicated i was a HF member and indicated i was using the material for a hammock. She was prompt and nice to work with in my transaction with her. I'm about to place another order with her here shortly.
