Goat Rocks is great for allowing a variety of entry hikes to fit your level of time/fitness. Trail 2000 is the PCT so you could theoretically start at Mexico and get there... but you'd have to hurry!

I've hiked from Walupt to Tieton river, LOTS of nice spots along the way. I favor stealth camping and near leave-no-trace style camping, so anywhere with trees and nearby water works for me.

Lost lake is supposed to be gorgeous too. If we choose a site anywhere in here, I'll probably pick a ~10 mile journey to reach it.

Edit: this whole area is at 5000+ elevation. In most years there is snow remaining in July, but PCTa and other sources are indicating a fast melt this year. And snow doesn't bother me that much anyway.

Been looking over Topo maps of the aria and I just don't think I'm going to be in that kind of shape that soon.

Packwood lake is probably more my speed right now.

Maybe by then could tackle Lost lake via packwood lake. Sounds like you prefer more remote locations as I used to before screwing up back and spending 15 years as a couch potato.

Im currently working on a 20 acre property up in Moclips.(near Ocean Shores)
Could hang a ton of hammocks there. Small river on site.
There are a couple hangers down here that are going up with me
once in a while to make more hammock spots.

Hike into Packwood lake is pretty easy. Roughly 5 miles (if I remember right) of fairly flat/slight incline trail. This is the 1st overnight hike I took my wife on to see how she liked backpacking. She's not in the best of shape and made it fine.

Once you hit the lake you'll find camp spots right next to the lake. You can continue hiking on flat trail to the far end of the lake where there are more camp spots and snow cap mountain view if the weather is clear. This is where the river feeds the lake. You can continue on up the canyon along the river on flat trail until you hit the end of the canyon and the switchbacks begin that go up to the ridge for some awesome scenery.

I'm up for a hang too as long as the dates work out. It'll be my first.

This sounds like it would be great place for meat and greet and compare systems type of a hang for NW hangers if you really don't mind a tone of hammocks and possibly a tent or two on your property all at ounce.

Is there a way we can move last two pages of this to a new thread?

We could just start a new thread.
Currently there is nothing on the property but one cleared section up top full of stumps and deadwood and the rest of the property is lots of trees with overgrown brush and the river.

Jackleberry and I cleared out a hammock camp in the middle but lots more needs cleared before we could hold anything big there.
Im sure it will be looking much better by end of June.

Sounds like a nice piece of property. Is it high enough to not be in tsunami danger?
How large of a hammock camp you plan on making?
Place like that I'd be looking for nice spot right over the river to hang a simple hammock that I could fish from in the evenings while enjoying a brew or two.

The top section is considered above the Tsunami danger.
The rest would be a lake lol.

As for size.. We will see how many it will hold.
But I bet it could hold 50+ when done.
I have not explored the other side of the river yet.

Its been an interesting exploration of it, The middle is better suited for hammocks with tall pole style trees with smaller branches above.
The top and just below the top will be better suited to tent camping.
I need to re route the trail a bit and build in some foot bridges in a few spots.
I will shoot ya a message if you want to come hang out and meet some southern hangers next time a few of us are up there.
