    Smile grand trunk mesquito hammock

I noticed a Grand trunk bug net hammock the other day for only 70 dollars. i used to have a Hennessy lightweight that i did not like. has any one tried out the grand trunk to compare to a Hennessy. i'm also curios as to why the grand trunk was not very expensive, compared to the Hennessy. I did not like my Hennessy because it was difficult to get in once my pad and bag were in there, plus the air flow was not great. that made for stuffy nights.

You can find the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter for $50 on Amazon, and the slightly larger Skeeter Beeter Pro for $65.

The Regular GTSB is 20 oz, and made with polyester.
The GTSBP is 27 oz, and made with parachute nylon silk, really comfy if you don't mind a little more stretch.

IMO, the $230 HH HyperLight is definitely not in the '$150-$200 better' range.
(Edit: forgot to note that the HL is 26(+/-)oz.)

I really like my Skeeter Beeter, still use it at work after 5 years of almost constant use (at least every 3rd night) it's still usable and COMFORTABLE. Granted I totaled the bug netting due to operator error (nothing with the manufacturing or materials, I messed it up).
Compared to a Hennessy,,,, I really shouldn't as I* don't like the HH regardless of model, But; I suppose my comparison is: The SB by Grand Trunk is WAY better.

*Personal preference, I'm sure they are a fine product.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Cranky Bear just weighed his hyperlight for me(thanks buddy) and with out any suspension it weighs 16.1oz. Add some hunggers and some dynaglide and you should be around the 19-20oz mark. The 25+oz is for the tarp as well.

I always forget if that included tarp weight. Still not completely worth the price difference IMO, but that makes it less severe. Is the tarp 8 1/4 oz as advertised? At $60 thats not bad. 3 oz more than the zpacks CF tarp, but nearly $200 cheaper.

I agree, hennessys aren't cheap. I have the silnylon tarp that comes with the hyperlight, ill have to way it tonight. I don't use it often as I'm not a fan of asym tarps.
